Lauren Towers, a wife and mother of four, went to pick up pizza for her children and their friends. When she passed out in the parking lot, EMS workers rushed her to the ER and her heart completely stopped.
"I flatlined and basically died for eight seconds," she says.
Lauren was raced to North Florida Regional Medical Center where it was determined she needed a pacemaker to keep her heart beating. The procedure was performed by Dr. Timothy Wessel.
"Thanks to the EMS workers and the staff at North Florida Regional Medical Center, I’m still alive today," Lauren says. "It’s the only place I would trust to take care of me and my family."
